About the Event
Ever wonder what would have happened if we lost the Revolutionary War?
ICYMI, on August 27, 1776, one of the largest, bloodiest, and most important battles against the Brits took place in the heart of Brooklyn. A small contingent of Maryland soldiers showed the world what valor and patriotism looked like by charging against a much greater force, taking heavy casualties while holding back the Redcoats long enough for the Continental Army and General Washington to escape and avoid capture. The actions of these brave men would earn them the venerated name of the Maryland 400.
Join us this August as we gather at sister Beth Connors’ historical Brooklyn home to learn more about NYC’s history, honor the Marylanders who sacrificed their lives, and celebrate our liberty with some traditional home-cooked colonial fare. Let freedom ring!
